8 months

Beckham turned 8 months last week. He is growing so fast! Since I didn't make it around to posting about what he was up to a 7 months, I have to catch up a little. So, here is what we have been up to these past two months. Apologies for the length. I do need to document these things though.

*Beckham is a happy, sweet boy. It is so fun to see his personality begin to come out. He is quite a teaser! We love every bit about him.
*We have swaddled Beckham since the day he was born. I really liked it. Unfortunately, Beckham has decided that he is too big for that. He would kick out of it so fast. Now, Jason and I have stopped doing that all together.
*Beckham has learned to wave and clap. He loves to show off and do these things when other people are watching. It is like he is saying, "Hey! Watch me!"  He loves being the center of attention.
*He found his toes. So interesting.

*Up until now, church had been wonderful with Beckham. Well he has found that if he is loud, the big chapel echoes back. What fun! The last few weeks have been a battle to keep reminding this one to be reverent.

*It probably doesn't help that Beckham absolutely hates wearing ties. And, I don't blame him!  He lets me know about it when I dress him. He is sure a good sport to cooperate and wear one each Sunday.

*This boy loves to be outside. One of his favorite things to do outside is to swing. It is such fun.
*One funny thing we have found out is that Beckham likes to watch little video clips on our phones of himself. If it is about anyone or anything else, he is disinterested. It makes me laugh to see him so excited to watch himself.

*Beckham loves play time. When I am home, I usually set his bin of toys in front of him on the floor. He immediately dumps out the toys and fishes for his favorite ones. He takes a quick look at each toy and if it is not a favorite he throws it. This continues on until a favorite toy is found. So funny! He can sure make a mess quick.
*That being said, Beckham thinks balls are great! Dad is so proud.
*As fun as the toys are, they do not compare to the non-toy items, like the mail, Dad's homework, or the laundry basket. He is mischief for sure! I am in trouble when he gets moving around.

*Thank goodness this boy has not figured out the crawling thing yet. He is getting so close though! Beckham can scoot backwards, but he does not prefer to move this way. He can get up on his knees while on his belly but only for a short moment. I know that one day soon he will take off.
*Beckham has, however, figured out that he can move in the walker. Mostly backwards.

*We have a pretty good eater on our hands.  Beckham has learned a new way  to tell us he is done with the food. He has  recently begun spitting it back at us. This has got to stop.

*Beckham has been grabbing everything. His favorite things to grab hold of and not let go include: hair, any excess skin (ouch!), and earrings. It makes me a little nervous when others hold him. This is not the best way to make friends.

*Story time is something Beckham loves. It makes me happy because I love it too! He likes to choose the stories after I set a stack next to our chair. He picks one up and hold it until I open it. He leans back against me while I read the book. Sometimes I look down at him and notice that he will randomly smile at certain pages. Cute.

*Recently, Beckham learned how to give raspberry kisses. You know. He plants his mouth on your cheek and blows. It's pretty funny and he thinks so too! I just love those big slobbery kisses.
He is a fun boy and we are oh-so happy to have him in our family.

He IS a grabber! Holy moly! When we were there, he pulled my hair so many times! And it sounds like crawling is not too far away...good luck! Ha!
