a night out with family

Friday night we were in need of a little family time, so we went out to eat with Jason's sisters. Thanks for the invite, Jessica! We really needed it. There is no better way to turn a stressful week into a great weekend than visiting and laughing with family.

**Apologies for the blurry pictures.  It is a little difficult for some of us to hold still.....uh-hem....and sometimes that was the cameraman's hand.
Beckham was very pleased to see his cousins, aunts, and uncle. He loved to play with everyone and have extra attention. He also loved sitting up at the table in a high chair like a big kid! Pretty neat!

We have a darling niece, Kyler, who is close in age to Beckham. Beckham thinks she is great. They sat right next to each other at the table. So cute and funny to watch them interact together. I hope they become little friends.

And, boy, does he love his cousin Kayson.  Beckham was so excited to see him.  Kayson was given wet slobbery kisses, one right after another.  He is one cool kid!

After dinner, we went to get frozen yogurt and see our Aunt Jordan at her new job. Yummy! And, Beckham loved it too.

Yay for frozen yogurt!  We have a fan!

Later that night when we were home, Jason and I were talking about how fun it is to have family close. We hope we get together like that again soon. Thanks for a fun night, all.

7 months

This little guy turned 7 months old on Monday. Can you believe it?!

Look at how big he is getting!  I still think of him as a new baby, but he is growing so fast.  He is really such a joy.  I feel so blessed to be his mother.

April Conference 2013

This past week has been a rough one for us.  I have had a difficult week juggling everything. Beckham wasn't sleeping very well, and most nights Jason and I were up and down with him.    Work has been crazy busy for me and I felt like I couldn't get on top of things there.  Jason has been completely stressed out will school and work.  Some days I felt like we only saw each other in passing.  It was not fun.

So, conference weekend was a much needed recouperation for us all.  I felt like the talks I heard were written just for me, and I was so thankful to have a living prophet to lead us.  It was simply a delightful weekend.

Unfortunately, we do not have cable.  Gasp!  Actually we never had it in the three and a half years we have been married.  We stream the conference through our tablet and watch it on T.V.  But sometimes that didn't work, and so we listened to it through our phones.  Thank you technology!  We really are blessed to have access to this wonderful conference from all over!

We struggled to keep Beckham entertained the whole time. We did find out though that he LOVED to watch and listen to the music.

Conference wouldn't be complete without the cinnamon twist. I had so much dough that I made two this year. We ate them Sunday morning before the first session.  Needless to say, I ate way too much!
Beckham caught up on some sleep.  However, Beckham was not too keen on the idea of taking a nap initially, but in the end he took a good nap......and so did Mom and Dad.  It was needed.

And we played.  And played!

It is just so fun to be home together and hear the prophet.  Thank Heaven for this weekend.  We are looking forward to another weekend like this one in October.

2013 Easter

We had a wonderful Easter weekend with Beckham. He had absolutely no idea what was happening but loved seeing everyone from our family.  Maybe next year he might be a little excited....

The Easter bunny did come on Saturday.  He brought a new Sunday outfit for Beckham, which I failed to get a picture of.  It's cute.  Trust me.  The Easter bunny and me are good friends.  And, he got some new foods.  He really didn't care, but Mom and Dad sure thought it was great.

We went to the Lewiston Easter Egg Hunt.  It was a pretty big deal growing up.  The whole city turns out for the hunt and the fire department starts off the hunt.  My nieces and nephews came for the big event and Beckham likes to see his cousins and get lots of attention from them.  Aunt Jenn got Beckham an egg from the hunt.  He was pretty happy about it.

Grandma colored eggs with her grandkids and most of the time we were just trying to keep Beckham's curious hands out of the way.  He is mischief for sure! We also played outside and, boy, does this boy love being outside!  He was so happy to be with his cousins outside that I seriously could not get him to look at me even for a minute to snap a picture.

On Sunday, we traveled with Grandma and Grandpa down to our family party in Salt Lake.  Great Grandma Richards moved to a new place shortly after Beckham was born and we hadn't seen where she lived.  We were so happy to see her and she has one fancy new place!

We enjoyed a nice dinner with our extended family and watched the cousins do another egg hunt.  What fun!

It was a busy weekend, but such a good one.  Not only were the festivities fun to be part of, but it was especially great to ponder on the real meaning on Easter and celebrate our Savior.
