working mom

So, Jason.  Well.  Not only is he a college graduate, but he now as a new job.  He got a job offer a few weeks ago that we are thrilled about.  It is out of the state, which means we will be moving soon.  I have been looking forward to this new phase in our life for a l.o.n.g. time, but I must say, change is hard.  One of the hardest parts of this change has been deciding to stay home.  I have finally decided to quit working and staying a home with Beckham.

The reason it was a hard decision was that I have absolutely loved working.  Seriously.  LOVED!  I had a great job that I loved!  I worked there almost 7 years and leaving was difficult for me.  I mean I worked there when I got married, graduated college, and had my first child.  I had different advancements at the company and enjoyed each position I worked in.  I worked with fantastic people and made some great friends.  I enjoyed the structure, deadlines, and fast pace of my job.
I also got to see this wonderful man at work quite a bit.
Even though I thoroughly enjoyed my career, I would be lying if I said leaving Beckham every morning was easy.  Sometimes I was just torn leaving him at the sitter's.  I actually think he knew what was happening every morning that I would rush to get him ready to head out the door.  There were times that I would put him in the car seat in the morning and he would cry.  Other times he would look out the window and not give me the time of day on our way to the sitter's house.  He knew the I was leaving, and quite frankly, it broke my heart.
The great thing about this situation was that I had phenomenal babysitters, who have a special relationship with my son.
I actually have had a few different sitters since Beckham was born, but for the last year, it has been my mom and sister-in-law, Jessica.  They would wave to me from the window or front porch every morning.  Sometimes Beckham would cry as I left and they comforted and helped him through the day.
These women are such a great blessing to me and I will love them forever for being so good to my son while I was a work.

The thought of quitting has been heart-tangling, but I am excited to be with my little boy and focus my efforts on being the best mom that I can.  So, off we go to another adventure!

graduate

He is officially a college graduate.   Jason had graduation on Saturday and it was a fantastic day for our little family.

Actually, Jason finished up his last classes in December and now has a diploma in hand.  Wahoo!

Just a few things about Jason and his time at Utah State...

1.  He was a very dedicated student and worked very hard for each grade.   Jason worked full time and went to school full time - spring, summer, and fall.  Jason was very organized and never once procrastinated any of his work.  I have been impressed to watch him as a student.  He had a few challenges and always worked hard to come out on top.
2.  Did you know I met this handsome guy at Utah State?  I think that this school will always have a special place in our hearts.  And, Jason will be quick to add that it also took a big place in our wallets too!

3.  Jason took a few semesters off school when we first got married so that I could finish my undergraduate degree.  When we were able to have Jason go back, he had one of his best semesters.
4.  Speaking of best semesters, Jason always did very well in the summer semesters.  Always.   I am still wondering how he could do so well in school in the dead heat of summer fun.
5.  Jason changed is degree a couple of times in school.  He officially graduated with a major in Spanish and two minors in Human Resources and Business Management Administration.
Saturday was a fun day for our family to celebrate all of Jason's hard work.

I am proud of Jason for working so hard.  We think that he is the absolute best and couldn't be happier for him.  Now off to new adventures ahead!
Way to go, Jason!

Easter 2014

It has been a bit crazy round here and I am really beginning to get behind on this blog. We had a great Easter weekend with Bumpa and Nanna.

Turns out our little boy loved the Easter Egg Hunt in the back yard

And the Easter bunny came to visit.
Beckham got a new Easter outfit for church and I thought he looked absolutely adorable (but, I am a bit bias!).

These boys.  I loved spending the Easter Sunday with them.
