working mom

So, Jason.  Well.  Not only is he a college graduate, but he now as a new job.  He got a job offer a few weeks ago that we are thrilled about.  It is out of the state, which means we will be moving soon.  I have been looking forward to this new phase in our life for a l.o.n.g. time, but I must say, change is hard.  One of the hardest parts of this change has been deciding to stay home.  I have finally decided to quit working and staying a home with Beckham.

The reason it was a hard decision was that I have absolutely loved working.  Seriously.  LOVED!  I had a great job that I loved!  I worked there almost 7 years and leaving was difficult for me.  I mean I worked there when I got married, graduated college, and had my first child.  I had different advancements at the company and enjoyed each position I worked in.  I worked with fantastic people and made some great friends.  I enjoyed the structure, deadlines, and fast pace of my job.
I also got to see this wonderful man at work quite a bit.
Even though I thoroughly enjoyed my career, I would be lying if I said leaving Beckham every morning was easy.  Sometimes I was just torn leaving him at the sitter's.  I actually think he knew what was happening every morning that I would rush to get him ready to head out the door.  There were times that I would put him in the car seat in the morning and he would cry.  Other times he would look out the window and not give me the time of day on our way to the sitter's house.  He knew the I was leaving, and quite frankly, it broke my heart.
The great thing about this situation was that I had phenomenal babysitters, who have a special relationship with my son.
I actually have had a few different sitters since Beckham was born, but for the last year, it has been my mom and sister-in-law, Jessica.  They would wave to me from the window or front porch every morning.  Sometimes Beckham would cry as I left and they comforted and helped him through the day.
These women are such a great blessing to me and I will love them forever for being so good to my son while I was a work.

The thought of quitting has been heart-tangling, but I am excited to be with my little boy and focus my efforts on being the best mom that I can.  So, off we go to another adventure!
